Love is in the air

I use to be horrified by those couples that called each other
names like 'baby' and 'sweetie pie'. I promised my teenage,
boyfriendless self that I wouldn't be caught dead using such mushy
terminology. Nevertheless, here I am, married, using the very names
I vowed would never leave my lips.
The point is, love changes people. And now, as someone who is into
all things romance, I consider myself a love expert. With
Valentine's Day only two weeks away, I'm going to offer some
suggestions that are sure to impress the one you love.
Let's start with advice for men.
My first suggestion is to clean yourself up. No woman wants to be
seen eating dinner with a hobo, so get a haircut (Checker's Hairdressing for
Men) trim or shave your beard (Dick Smith Electronics) and I
beg you, lose the monobrow (Ella
Bache).
Next, buy some flowers (ABC Florist). They're a cliché for a
reason. Women love them.
If your significant other doesn't own a set of satin bed sheets,
now is the time to splurge (Baines Manchester). Let's face it,
there's nothing sexier than red satin, except for maybe, you and
your partner in a bed of red satin on Valentine's Day. I'll leave
the rest to your imagination.
One of my favorites is when my other half does something out of
the ordinary that he knows I'll love. For me, that's cooking. Show
me a man that can cook and I'm smitten. Pick up an expensive bottle
of red (Liquorland), prepare a romantic meal for two
and watch the love grow!
If you're really bold, why not book a romantic weekend getaway (Flight
Center)? There are plenty of inexpensive beautiful holiday
spots only a short flight away.
In the end, we all just want to feel loved. Choose a gift that
proves to your partner that you know and admire her more than
anyone else and Valentine's Day will be a success for you both.
